About Himachal Pradesh

HimachalPradesh is a part of the Indian Himalayas. the name itself is the proof of itspristine beauty. The name translates into “bosom of snow”. Yes, HimachalPradesh is situated in the lap of great Himalayas.  The snowcapped mountains in Himachal Pradeshhave always been of exclusive attraction for both the national andinternational tourists of India.

After India became free in 1947, a number ofprincely hilly states were integrated into a single unit to be administered bythe Government of India.  HimachalPradesh came into being as a state of the India Union on April 15, 1948, byintegrating 31 big and small hill states of the region. In 1956, it wasconverted into a Union Territory.  Subsequently, some more hill areas of thePunjab state were added to this Union Territory and  it was made into a full-fledged state, thestatus that it continues to have now. Himachal Pradesh today is one of the mostimportant tourist destinations in India. The high hills of Himalayas welcomethe trekkers from all over the world.

 The weather from April to June in HimachalPradesh is extremely pleasant because it is a hilly area.
